Education

An essential element to successful homeownership is Education. Without the appropriate resources and knowledge, individuals and communities cannot create sustainable affordable workforce housing.

Individual Financial Counseling: One-on-one financial counseling to help you prepare for homeownership.

Homebuyer Clubs: EARN while you LEARN! Monthly small group classes where you develop the skills to help you achieve homeownership.  While participating in the Homebuyer Club you can enroll in an Individual Development Account (IDA) where your savings will be matched by donor contributions.

Community Education: SHAC provides public education for all sectors of the community to raise awareness, increase understanding, and build valuable partnerships.

Advocacy: SHAC is committed to advocating for affordable workforce housing and is actively involved in influencing all levels of government for policy changes to promote affordable housing.

"SHAC has been a wonderful blessing to our family by teaching us how to wisely prepare for buying our first home. But that's not all! They also provided our family a great incentive toward saving money for our own payment by doubling our contributions! Don't miss the benefits that SHAC can provide your family!" The Cates Family
